Noetic negotiates research agreement between Southern Miss and Crosslink™

Noetic Technologies, Inc., the marketing and commercialization arm of the University of Southern Mississippi, announces the completion of two research and development agreements between the School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at Southern Miss and Crosslink™.

Both projects are funded by Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and will result in high performance “SMART” coatings for military applications. “SMART” coatings build response characteristics into the coating themselves so that some environmental change will elicit the desired response. “These stimuli-response coatings have the potential of offering “futuristic” properties,” says Charlie Hoyle, one of leading experts in conductive coating systems and Southern Miss' lead investigator on one of the projects, “The work we are doing has the potential to save a portion of the twenty billion dollars ($20B) the department of defense spends annually fighting corrosion. The possibilities are endless.”

Research will be based on intellectual property and proprietary technology developed by Crosslink as well as new intellectual property developed in collaboration with Southern Miss. Dr. James Rawlins the principal investigator on the anti-corrosion coating project combines years of industry experience with a strong academic background in coatings formulations. Dr. Hoyle is a leading expert in polymer photochemistry and conductive materials.

“Crosslink is a technology company that understands application development,” says Les Goff, president of Noetic Technologies, Inc. “Companies like Crosslink are natural partners for University researchers.”

Based in St. Louis , Crosslink is a technology development company focused on commercializing products and applications using advanced organic materials. The company is actively applying and developing products made from conductive polymer technology.

Noetic Technologies, Inc., a company with a combined 45 years of expertise in moving projects from research to commercial reality, offers a variety of private partnerships including research, licensing, joint ventures and start-ups.
