Hattiesburg, MS - The Mississippi Polymer Institute (MPI) recently announced the appointment of Dr. Bryan Brister as its new Director. Dr. Brister takes over leadership of MPI following the recent retirement of Dr. Jim Evans.

Dr. Bryan Brister
A Mississippi native, Dr. Brister returns to the State with a wealth of global technology and business leadership experience. During an eight year tenure with the General Electric Co. which began in 1999 on the Edison Engineering Development program, he advanced through a series of roles including product development, global technical leadership, the Corporate Audit Staff and general business leadership.
In January 2007, leveraging his experience across a broad array of technologies and general business management, Dr. Brister was a principal founder of Seven Seas Water, a water and waste water treatment services company focused on the Caribbean basin. He served as Vice President – Operations through the start-up phase and helped develop the company’s strategy, build operations infrastructure and processes to support growth, helped complete five acquisitions and lead integration activities.
MPI will move its Operations into The Accelerator this spring. “The Accelerator will allow us to expand our service offerings to existing customers, and enhances our impact for new businesses relocating or beginning operations in MS”, explained Dr. Brister. “From analytical services, expert project management, and high throughput formulation, to rapid prototyping and workforce development, we are uniquely positioned to serve as a cost-effective tool for young companies seeking to bring new products to market.”
